Lachelt reflects leadership in action

Knowing Gwen Lachelt personally, I know how tirelessly she has worked all her life for our community protecting people’s rights and quality of life. This is the main reason many people live here in La Plata County.

Growing up as a farmer’s daughter and longtime resident, she continues to be one of our county’s most engaged citizens. To mention just two examples, in 1990, she graduated in the second class of Leadership La Plata, an organization founded in the 1980s by an impressive list of community leaders.

Ten years ago, she worked with then-state Rep. Ellen Roberts, R-Durango, now our state senator, to pass into law the Colorado Landowner’s Protection Act. The CLPA is now hailed as one of the most powerful state laws in the nation in terms of protecting landowners’ rights and the environment.

Lachelt has been an outstanding leader, always seeking common ground for both our rural and urban citizens. As the sitting county commissioner, she knows the challenges we are facing and she is doing an outstanding job during financially challenging times.

Choose experience and lifelong commitment to La Plata County.

Re-elect County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt!
