Lake Nighthorse Recreation Area opened for daily operations Friday, with continued modified hours and recreation operations because of COVID-19.
The lake is open daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hours of operation are subject to change and will be updated monthly at www.DurangoGov.org/LakeNighthorse.
Community members are encouraged to view that webpage before visiting for full instructions about watercraft inspections and COVID-19 safety measures and requirements at Lake Nighthorse. Current lake conditions can also be viewed on the website via live, 4K webcam.
Season passes and five-punch passes are available for purchase online and day passes may be purchased with a credit card or exact cash at the entrance station.
To ensure the safety of lake staff and the public, it is requested that visitors maintain social distancing of 6 feet apart, wear a face covering when social distancing is not possible and bring a personal supply of hand sanitizer. Visitors also should not gather in groups of 10 or more.
