In the upcoming La Plata Electric Association elections, I encourage residents of Durango to vote for Rachel Landis for the LPEA Board of Directors.
In the increasingly important fight for the protection of our planet, Rachel Landis is the best candidate. I have known Rachel for the last six years, and I have been continually impressed with her knowledge, passion, energy and thoughtfulness.
She is dedicated to seeking solutions to environmental problems and she has proved a commitment to working with the community.
As the current director of Fort Lewis’ Environmental Center, and through her involvement with the Green Business Roundtable, Local First, Growing Partners of Southwest Colorado and the Durango Housing Advisory Planning Committee, Rachel continues to work toward improving and supporting the community of Durango.
Having served for three years on the LPEA Board, I know what it takes to be successful, and I believe Rachel has the qualities that are needed.
Rachel is passionate about supporting renewable resources and efficiency programs when they best make sense, she is willing to put in the time it takes to provide thoughtful dialogue in the board room, and through her collaborative leadership style, she is able to work with those whose viewpoints are different than her own.
For city residents, I whole-heartedly encourage you to vote for Rachel Landis for the LPEA board.
