I am voting for Rachel Landis for the La Plata Electric Association board because Rachel will work to fight climate change at a local level.
Many of us have decided to spend our lives in Durango because of the outdoor recreational opportunities that are provided to us here. From Purgatory, to the spring runoff that makes for great rafting in summer, to mountain trails, climate change and extreme unpredictable weather will affect our way of life.
It is imperative that we move towards clean energy production at a local, state and national level. The LPEA election is our opportunity to ensure our community is doing everything we can to move towards cleaner energy production.
Rachel shares our values and has dedicated her life to a cleaner environment through her work at Fort Lewis College’s environmental center. Rachel will take this dedication to LPEA’s board and will fight for our city’s values on the board. Please join me in casting your ballot for Rachel Landis, and remember to return them by May 12th.
