How may Durangoans have recently received a bill from the Parking Division for past due parking violations dating back three or more years? Have the Parking Division’s computers suddenly come back online?
Whatever the reason, I find it onerous to be required to pay a bill that arrives in my mail box three years late! I took my $36 parking violation bill to the Transit Center and, upon complaining there was something wrong about being billed three years after the fact, the clerk reduced the fee to $9 (the original fee, before late charges were added). Others have not fared so well and were told the full fee (including late payment) had to be paid.
Yes, the law is the law, but laws need be interpreted and administered justly.
