Leaders needed to fight climate change

In a recent letter to The Hill, Reps. Ted Deutch and Carlos Curbelo of Florida discussed the importance of creating a bipartisan discussion surrounding the issue of climate change. These representatives, like much of America, are frustrated by the partisan political climate preventing Congress from doing its job. In order to address this problem, Deutch and Curbello have joined Rep. Gibson of New York in creating space for a discussion. In their letter, the representatives discuss how climate change is already impacting Florida in areas like Key West, Miami Beach and the Everglades. The problem does not stop in Florida, however. Deutch and Curbelo also give a nod to the hit taken by the ski industry in Colorado.

Climate change is real, and will only be solved by real leadership. It is time to set aside partisan politics and learn to talk about our problems instead of denying them.
