The San Juan Mountains Association will host a lightweight and ultralight backpacking seminar.
The San Juan Mountains Association will hold a presentation about lightening a backpack for hiking.
Presenters will be Will Rietveid and Janet Reichi, SJMA wilderness information specialists. Rietveid and Reichi are ultralight backpackers with more than 35 years of experience. Rietveid has published more than 300 articles about lightweight backpacking gear and techniques for Backpacking Light Magazine and his own website.
The presentation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Needle Mountaineering. The cost to attend is a $10 donation to the San Juan Mountains Association.
