An event at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Community Recreation Center called “Landscaping for Fire Protection” will help residents learn how to protect their homes from fire.
Speakers will include Durango Fire Protection District Fire Marshal Karola Hanks, La Plata County coordinator of Fire Wise of SW Colorado Charlie Landsman and Eva Montane, owner of Columbine Landscapes.
The cost of the event is $20 and those interested are asked to register at www.durangobotanicalsociety.com. Drinks and snacks will be offered.
