In these days of the leftist media dropping all pretense and actively campaigning for Democrats, it might be worthwhile to point out a couple of things about Sen. Michael Bennet’s record.
First of all, while the Herald glossed over Bennet’s “support” for Obamacare, Bennet was more involved than that. Many of the representations about Obamacare by Bennet and the liberal media were actually deliberate lies, as aides to President Obama later admitted. Even Obama got four Pinocchios for lying about Obamacare. But Bennet and other members of Congress were factually aware that Obama’s promises were false – yet they promulgated those lies to the public in order to support passage of the law. In other words, Bennet lied to his constituents to pass a law that is now harming some of his constituents.
While the argument for Obamacare is now that “more people are insured,” bear in mind that in the last two years, doctors have noted that many people on Obamacare have such high deductibles that they cannot afford to really use Obamacare. So sure, more people are on the program, but many of them aren’t using the insurance because the deductibles are sky high. Obamacare and the Democrats ruined what was still probably the best health care system in the world in order to force this monstrosity on the public.
The Herald also neglected to mention that Bennet co-sponsored an amendment to the Constitution that would curtail freedom of speech, largely allowing the in-power political party to decide who was using incorrect political speech (that would be their opponents, as we can all figure out.)
During Obama’s rule (as he and his staff have called it), there have been many attempts by the Democrats to curtail free speech and Bennet did his share. The public needs to know that before they vote.
