Lenora Mary Martinez, 81, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at home in Ignacio.
Visitation was at Hood Mortuary on Monday, March 17, 2014, followed by a Rosary. A funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Durango.
Mrs. Martinez was born June 23, 1932 in Los Pinos, N.M., the daughter of Jose and Leonarda Corrales. She married Anselmo Silvario Martinez in Blanco, N.M. in 1953. They made their home in the Ignacio and Durango area. She loved her family and her grandchildren. Her heritage is and was her family as she enjoyed rearranging new family photos as they arrived to her home. She loved gardening and sewing. She is survived by her sons, Eddie, Joby, Cypriano and Chris Martinez, all of Ignacio; daughters Tina Martinez of Ignacio and Polly Manzanares of Provo, Utah; a brother, Johnny Corrales of San Jacinto, Calif., and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anselmo Martinez, one son, Joe Marcos Martinez, and siblings Duby Valerio, Juanita Valerio, Joe L. Corrales and Joe C. Corrales.
