Let’s work to keep our county united

I think that there must be a good number of people out there who have been reading the letters to the editor lately regarding the recall efforts against Gwen Lachelt and thinking to themselves, “Maybe it would be better to voice my concerns about the land-use code by sitting down with the commissioners and be a productive part of the democratic process rather than be associated with this divisive , expensive movement.”

Or, “I don’t really feel good about being a pawn in the Koch Brothers-funded Americans For Prosperity manipulation of our county’s political process,” or, “Both the democratic and republican county commissioners support Gwen.

Well, to you folks I say, “Good news!” If you feel you were misinformed when you signed the petition to recall Gwen Lachelt, you have the opportunity to rescind that signature.

Email Tiffany Parker, La Plata County Clerk and Recorder at https://bit.ly/2IKLacb or “Google” the office and search “Departments” then “Elections” to request your signature be removed from the recall petition.

We have enough divisiveness in national politics. Do your part to keep our local community united.
