Representative Hurd - You must know, contrary to your self-congratulating column in The Durango Herald (Mar. 9), that your party’s actions are leading to fewer dollars in the pockets of "hard-working Americans."
Your party is about to take away Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance from your constituents and Veterans' mental and physical health care benefits - maybe even social security -- in order to give enormous tax cuts to people who do not need them.
How dare you tout your success in serving your constituents.
The government is being sold to the highest bidders and you do nothing to stop it. I want to see you stand up and tell the House that you are against all the wanton cruelty being visited upon "hard-working Americans."
And, the economy - which was doing pretty well under the previous administration, thank you - is being dismantled because it feels right on any given day.
I ask you to think about the country you want to leave to your five children. Do you want them to live in an isolated, Russian satellite? Or can we work together to turn this train wreck around?
