Letter: Another ‘vote’ for phasing out wood burning

I agree with your correspondent

Wood smoke contains toxic chemicals similar to cigarette smoke as well as tiny PM2.5 particles that, when breathed in, can transfer to the bloodstream and deposit thousands of these particles in major organs, which will disrupt the function of those organs. This can lead to autism in children, dementia in older people and lung problems in otherwise fit and healthy adults.

Please phase out, then ban all wood-burning and biomass-burning stoves and appliances to protect your health.
