Letter: Don’t lecture me

In response to Dave Mehan’s recent letter (“How could you have been so duped?” Nov. 10), I had to shake my head when he questioned the values of conservative voters and President Trump’s supporters.

I am a proud patriot, conservative and Trump supporter. I voted for the strong leadership and policies that have been on display over the past four years. I voted for a president who finally showed the American pride needed to soundly defeat enemies and to hold international allies accountable. I voted for lower taxes and decreased governmental control and for bringing fairness back to international trade. I voted for a president who achieved the lowest unemployment levels in modern history. You, Dave, and many others, voted for increased taxes, bigger government and increased entitlement programs that trap Americans in poverty. You voted for radical, ridiculous ideas such as nationalized medical care and the Green New Deal. Liberals who want to lecture conservatives about their values and principles stand on awfully shaky ground.
