Letter: Furtney’s experiences outweighs past crimes

Since moving to Three Springs a few years ago, I’ve spent a lot of time both observing and working with Seth Furtney in his role on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.

I have been impressed with his: spirit of public service; intelligence; relevant business experience in finance/budgeting; deep research on issues, which yields nuanced, creative options and solutions; soliciting opinions from all stakeholders on issues; and a willingness to ask tough questions. These attributes would be huge assets on City Council.

When I compare Seth’s indiscretion 15 years ago (for which he has paid his debt to society) to the qualities and experience that have earned him multiple appointments to the parks and recreation board and hopefully a spot on City Council, there’s no question: I’m voting for Seth!
