I read the articulate opinion written by Trennie Burch Collins pertaining to “the Chief” sign/”artwork” still being displayed in downtown Durango, and I agree wholeheartedly that it is past time for that archaic misrepresentation of so many indigenous peoples to be replaced with a more historically accurate representation of history and “culture” in the Southwest United States.
I’d recommend replacing “The Chief” with a giant Saltine cracker.
