Increasing Durango’s lodgers tax is long overdue.
The increase will help support a year-round tourism economy, which in turn supports and sustains local businesses. The tax is not paid by residents, but by visitors who come to the area. The increase in revenue will also aid in supporting Durango transit as well as arts and culture.
It’s simple – vote “Yes” on 1A.
