Letter: Massage chairs for deputies’ health?

So, no doubt, after consultation with medical professionals, the sheriff determined the best way to spend $20,000 toward overall employee wellness was to purchase three massage chairs (March 27, “La Plata County Sheriff’s Office Buys Massage Chairs for $20,000”).

I’m sure after 20 minutes in a massage chair, his deputies are ready to hit the street. Hasn’t he heard that exercise is an excellent way to unwind and relieve stress? Maybe some cardio equipment and weights might work and, as a side benefit, would help keep his employees healthy.

I hope the sheriff of Archuleta County doesn’t read The Durango Herald.
