I am a social scientist. I form my opinions on future politicians based on observations of their past behavior.
This is the behavior I observed of Lisa McCorry, candidate for Durango City Council: I observed Ms. McCorry for twelve years as I am a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango. For these twelve years, she has fulfilled her duties as the children’s faith formation leader (including her own three children) up until the end of her term and until another replacement for her position was found.
She is held in high regard by other members of the UUFD. She and her husband have owned a local gardening business for many years.
I vote for individuals who have demonstrated their dedication and willingness to serve their constituents. I conform to the philosophy of “the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.” I want McCorry’s behavior repeated on my behalf as one of her constituents.
