Bravo to
Relocating the golf course to provide for in-town affordable housing would truly set Durango and the county on a long-term path toward sustainability.
In-town housing addresses many long-term societal and structural issues, including public works infrastructure, transportation, school and child care to name a few. Affordable/attainable housing would benefit not only the recipients of lower housing costs but also those retirees and second-home owners who benefit from the labors of all those citizens who provide the services that make our city and county great place to live.
I hope our city and county leaders take serious and thoughtful consideration of Zalneraitis’ suggestion.
