Letter: President Trump, Rep. Boebert should resign for seditious acts

Sedition: “Conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of the state or monarch.” Insurrection: “A violent uprising against an authority or government.” Both are thus defined by the Oxford Languages Dictionary. On Jan. 6, we witnessed the culmination of the seditious incitement of an insurrection mob of terrorists by our president, which defiled forever our Capitol, democracy, Constitution and country. The president should resign or be immediately impeached for his high crimes against all the people of the U.S.

Words matter, lies matter, and in this case, the lies about the election perpetrated by many Republicans matter and are the foundation of their sedition.

Our Congressional representative, Lauren Boebert, was part of the election lie when she performed her first votes in Congress. She should resign in disgrace along with all the other Republicans who stoked the seditious election lie. Surely we should all hold her accountable for all her votes, actions and words.
