During the nearly 20 years Seth Furtney has called Durango home, I have witnessed countless times his passion for preserving and enhancing the health and well-being of our community.
Having served on the faculty at Fort Lewis College (professor of chemistry) for nearly 30 years and more recently as the president of the board of directors of the Mountain Studies Institute (MSI), I have had ample opportunities to see the rewards and challenges associated with growth in our community and the Four Corners Region.
As a friend and neighbor of Seth Furtney, I have developed a keen sense of his environmental stewardship values and his respect for science and data-driven solutions, while also gaining admiration for his sense as a businessperson (my wife managed the books for his commercial properties).
Seth Furtney understands the complex issues our community faces, and I have the utmost confidence that he has the background, skills, passion, time and fiscal knowledge/responsibility necessary to make strong, positive and meaningful impacts as a City Councilor. Seth Furtney has my unequivocal support, and I truly believe he should have yours as well.
