Letter: Traffic increase due to train endangers residents, riders

Further to the points in the Letters to the Editor from

The train station is located off County Road 200, which is a narrow, single lane in both directions, steep and winding from U.S. Highway 550, and less than a mile long.

As a result, there were several times this past year I was on this road when the line of vehicles was backed up, or crept slowly to and from the station.

Given the added number of vehicles in the train parking lot and residents in the area, this could prove distastrous in a emergency evacuation due to a wildfire or other natural occurence. The limited access of the road has concerned many of the residents in the area long before this issue.

Now the problem is compounded.

Additionally, this situation could also hinder emergency vehicle access and egress when needed.

Continued increased traffic is a threat to all involved.
