Here I concentrate on the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine to La Plata county residents in category 1b, but soon this problem will befall all residents.
There seem to be at least two realities here in Durango. If you are an Axis patient, you call and get your vaccine the next day. If you are a Centura Health patient, you call and are told you will hear sometime in the next month. You are told that they understand that it is frustrating.
No, it is a matter of life and death.
Could the Herald or San Juan Basin Public Health keep the local citizens informed with honesty and transparency where the vaccines are going? How many went to Axis? How many went to Mercy? Have any gone to pharmacies? How many went elsewhere?
It is good to sign up with SJBH for the COVID-19 vaccine. I did. You are then to be told via social media or the local news when vaccines are available. I have not heard or seen anything. Yet Axis is taking care of their patients. I don’t begrudge those patients; I would just like to know when the rest of us will become safe.
