Letter: Wear masks to save lives, get this over with sooner

Those of you that can’t wear face masks in public because you don’t believe in them or that it’s inconvenient or whatever, consider that I was drafted and sent to Vietnam to participate in a war I did not believe in.

That was inconvenient, maybe more than inconvenient.

Approximately 54,000 Americans were killed (dead) over a ten-year period in Vietnam. Now, 500,000 (and counting) Americans have been killed (dead) by the coronavirus over the last year.

Please quit whining and do the right thing, wear a mask in public. We all hate wearing masks, but if we all did, we might get back to a normal life sooner, our businesses could get back to normal and fewer people would have to die.
