Letter: Who is the real Lauren Boebert?

I read with interest editor Hollis Walker’s well-thought-out and reasoned editorial on the subject of newly elected Rep. Lauren Boebert this week. The editor’s point that Boebert should be given time to mature in her role is a fair one.

Frankly, I can’t agree with any of Boebert’s comments or actions. But I believe in second chances, so let’s give the new representative an opportunity for more nutty behavior and comments. Political cartoonists no longer have the former president around, so perhaps Boebert will assume Trump’s mantle as international laughing stock.

But just who is the real Lauren Boebert? Is she just another loud-mouthed far-right nut ball, or something far more sinister? Is it possible that our new representative is a stealth marketing genius?

Boebert famously runs a restaurant where the waitresses are very attractive, well-armed young women serving what is supposed to be quite tasty food. If you consider her brand combining good food with a bit of well-armed sexiness, you can see how this could appeal to a certain clientele.

Could Boebert be planning a franchised chain of these restaurants post-Congress? As my wife of over 50 years has opined, there is certainly no shortage of intellectually challenged, masculinity-impaired men for customers. So what is it? Far-right, heavily armed wacko, or marketing genius to rival P.T. Barnum?
