As of Sunday, La Plata county had 59 cases of the coronavirus with zero deaths.
If you include the surrounding counties, including Farmington’s San Juan County, there were 172 cases in seven counties with four deaths in two of those counties.
The rate of infection for all seven counties was .00093%. The death rate for the infected was .023%.
The death rate per entire population of the seven counties is .000021%.
It is time to reopen responsibly.
Consider the science when making decisions. Look at the statistics. We are clearly not putting our kids in harm’s way by allowing them to finish out the school year. In fact, I would argue we are doing more harm keeping them home.
Allow business owners to salvage what is left of their businesses before it is too late.
Continue to wear masks. Continue to sanitize everything and wash your hands. Limit crowds.
Apply appropriate, rational measures to continue to be safe. But reopen!
