I concede there may be a fine line between a bought-and-paid-for sign and one made from salvaged cardboard and .0003 cents of Magic Marker.
Does Mr. Action Line really feel the need to lay claim to his .0003 cents of Magic Marker, I ask?
And I answer: He doth protest too much!
Then there is the consideration that if someone, having removed the advertised free item, then tosses the sign to the ground, are they then not littering? Or just leaving some trash for the fine free item purveyor to remove?
How rude!
And what of said sign left lying unattended by its free item, does it not now advertise that it itself is the free item to be taken at will?
Is there a line in the sand that needs to be drawn between whether a free sign is to be free or not to be free?
That is the question!
