Letters: Bernie Sanders is a freedom-eating communist

Bernie Sanders will most likely win the state primary. This should be horrifying to anyone who values freedom and individual liberty.

You were born with three natural rights. The right to life, liberty and property, the only three rights that exist. Anything that has to be provided by another person is not a right; it is a service.

Your ability to provide for yourself is a direct offshoot of your right to property. You own your talents and time.

But Bernie doesn’t believe this. His belief system says the government owns your talents and you get to keep what the state thinks you should be able to keep. It doesn’t matter if you make $10 or $1 million an hour. You earned that money, it belongs to you. But this doesn’t align with communism, therefore, it doesn’t align with Bernie’s world view.

The clearest example of this is in the solutions Bernie proposes. Notice how his solutions always revolve around lowering the potential that people can reach, rather than empowering those at the bottom to achieve more? Calls for equality always rely on limiting the potential of achievement rather than empowering those at the bottom to achieve more.

Under Bernie’s vision of America, you should have a cap on your potential. That is the antithesis of freedom, and it should be horrifying if you consider yourself a free person.
