During this pandemic, I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time in my living room chair, reinforcing that my chair is unbelievably uncomfortable!
Knowing that my chair will likely continue to be my closest physical companion over the coming months, I broke down and went to Durango Furniture and Mattress to seek a replacement. I hope that Durango Furniture and Mattress is an example of the precautions that all area businesses are taking. The environment was spotless, staff and customers were masked, everyone maintained physical distancing, gloves were donned when making financial transactions and I left with the promise of a chair to be delivered and an appreciation of the efforts by the management to protect me and their employees.
I haven’t been many places lately, but the few errands I’ve run (to the UPS Store, Bread and – of course – Star Liquors) really show our local business’ creativity and commitment to our safety.
While I imagine there are always outliers, I am encouraged by and proud of our local businesses. As usual, I am so glad I live in Durango!
