I am wondering why we in Southwest Colorado live in a region immune to market forces.
I see that the price of oil has dropped by over half, yet the price of gasoline in Durango hasn’t dropped a penny.
This is not how market forces work. It is, however, how monopolies work.
Why is this happening? Why isn’t anyone investigating this obvious crime? Why isn’t this being prosecuted? In legal terms, this is known as restraint of trade!
I don’t mind paying a fair market price for any product. But I do object to being ripped off. Which is exactly what is happening to every purchaser of gasoline in Durango.
Why have market forces and the law been suspended?
