Be a socialist democracy like the Scandinavian countries, says Bernie Sanders.
Except the prime minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, called him out on that, saying Denmark does not have a socialist economy and to quit saying that because it’s hurting their businesses.
Though the countries definitely are “nanny countries” and at quite a cost that Bernie neglects to say. Sales tax is 25%, unless you want to buy a car, then taxes start at 85%. The “rich” are taxed, but like here there are not nearly enough of them to cover costs, so the middle working class cover the brunt of the costs with an income tax rate of 60%.
A typical urban working family of four in Sweden lives in a 900-square-foot apartment, because both housing costs and the taxes on them are beyond their reach. So even the “takers” (losers), with their collective hands out that support Bernie, would lose.
Maybe, though, Durangoans would like that – after all, they voted to raise the city sales tax (a bloated city government that receives so much revenue from tourists) and voted for Proposition CC to give the Democrat-run state the right to unfettered tax increases.
Perhaps they want to make the turning “blue” Colorado into the high-taxed, corrupt, overspending, deep-in-debt, business-leaving, crumbling, longtime Democrat-run states.
