Letters: Elizabeth Warren’s story is authentic

Karl Rove developed the American political campaign strategy of attacking an opponent’s strength. In 2020, Elizabeth Warren is portrayed as an elitist Harvard professor, out of touch with the day-to-day struggles of wage-earning people. The purpose of this is to erase her story.

But Warren’s life story is a huge strength. She and her family lived economic hardship in the Heartland. Warren drew on support systems of family and government to achieve economic security and success. She went on to understand and change fundamental systems affecting the financial security of others coming from backgrounds like hers.

To me, this is profoundly constructive, pro-social behavior. But it is provocative and threatening to those of wealth and power who have rigged the game in their favor. With enabling allies in the media, Warren’s opponents will continue to flatten her into a cartoon while we Warren supporters will help people see who this determined public servant really is.

Be ready to be impressed by the authenticity of her story, and the possibility she offers for a way to stop the unconditional surrender to the wealthy in the U.S.

I’m voting for Warren because I want her life history and record of excellence in the White House.
