Thanks, first, to all our dedicated, at-risk health care professionals. In the trumpeting madness of current reaction (and non-reaction) to the obvious dangers being faced, doctors, nurses, technicians, thank you for your amazing dedication and your incalculable talents and abilities.
Thanks, too, to the hard-working, selfless individuals dedicating their time and energy to cleaning and sanitizing all those countless places where people need to be – and there are so many places that people need to be in these circumstances. Your work is so appreciated, and your focus on cleanliness and safety is critical. Your communities are so grateful!
Meanwhile, there is a broad community of public service professionals selflessly putting themselves into vulnerable circumstances, without whom all of us would be at greater risk: EMTs. Cops. Firefighters. Dispatch. Support staff. Your work is so appreciated, so valued and so critically important at this time. Those you serve salute you!
I suppose we should all thank the criminals in our community who have unselfishly taken time out from their nefarious activities in response to the crisis. Thanks, bad guys! In a couple of months, I’m sure you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off.
What about all of our friends and neighbors engaged in service industries? Show your thanks, show your appreciation by doing all you can to support them.
Let us show our strength and wisdom by adhering to guidelines to curtail this virus. Let’s all be good neighbors. Let’s all be good Americans.
