According to President Trump, Portland (Oregon) has been burning for decades. I never knew that. But for once, he got it right.
Just look back at pictures from the early 1990s of that once-beautiful city. You can barely see the skyline for the smoke; and forget seeing Mount Hood, even on the clearest of days. All that can be seen in those pictures is enormous walls of flame, even at noon, let alone at night, huge maws of flame engulfing entire city blocks at a time. What is so amazing is that after all these decades, there is anything left to burn.
But that just speaks to the industriousness of those Northwesterners. They build and build and build only to have it burn just as fast as they can build; but they keep building. There is no structure in Portland older than 18 months. But the most amazing thing is that nobody knew about this. The Democratic city administration, in their manipulation of the fake news media, kept it a secret from the entire world, even as its tourist industry thrived. Hell, I was there recently and I didn’t even suspect such catastrophic events were going on right in front of my eyes.
Sure, it was a tad warmer than expected, but that’s how devious those Democrats are. They already had decades of smoke and all they had to do was install large reflective devices, and their subterfuge was complete. Insidious.
