Letters: Give teachers money from bridge project

I commend Beth Jones for reminding the city that there are more important things to invest in (Letters: “

I have witnessed civic projects that were nothing more than legacy projects, proposed or completed, for politicians to leave behind as bragging rights. Too many of those projects were unnecessary. I’m also the son of a mom who devoted 36 years to teaching in high school and college in Santa Monica, California, where the school district had the vision – and the tax base – to invest in education.

I use the current 32nd Street bridge several times a day. There are flawless sidewalks and stunning views. Another bridge accomplishes absolutely nothing. It is just a legacy project. Kill the bridge.
