There are many things about this Wuhan Flu, otherwise known as COVID-19, that have confused me. From the beginning, there were hyper claims as to the danger of this novel virus but I saw little that showed that it was actually worse than the annual flu. I still don’t.
To mask or not to mask is a question that could drive one nuts, just trying to make sense of statements from government officials. “Only health care workers should have masks!” “Masks are dangerous.” “Masks can make it worse.” “Everybody should wear a mask!” “Masks must be worn in public places.”
Some seem to think that masks are one-way; that they only prevent the virus from going outward from the masked person. They don’t think that the mask on another person will protect that person from inhaling the virus. The claim is that masks will harbor bacteria and viruses but in most cases exposure to sunlight will expose those pathogens to Ultra Violet-C, which will kill those pathogens. Judicious use of a heat gun will do the same thing.
The outdoor closures are total nonsense. Closing beaches and waterfronts makes absolutely no sense. A beach means breezes that blow viruses away. Beaches mean sunshine with its UV-C component that will kill the virus. I have read that the virus will only live two or three seconds on exposure to UV-C.
Gov. Polis is a dictatorial moron. His closure of campgrounds makes no sense.
