Letters: Grocers should enforce mask mandate

The voters have spoken. They rejected Trump’s dangerous anti-science rhetoric, especially here in Colorado and La Plata County. It’s time now for local grocery stores to enforce the mask mandate and stop risking employees’ and shoppers’ health by allowing unmasked people in your stores.

COVID-19 is real and it’s tearing through our community because of people rejecting simple measures to slow down the spread. They shop in your stores. It’s time for stores to recognize their inaction is fueling the spread, too, by not requiring all shoppers to wear masks. The anti-maskers have the option of curbside pickup. The rest of us should not be endangered because of management choosing anti-maskers over responsible shoppers. Our money is just as good; we are in the majority, and we ask for your cooperation and respect.
