Not in my name. I cannot be mindfully passive when the President Donald J. Trump, the president in name only, lies and accuses a critic of murder, with absolutely no evidence, and maliciously inflicts needless pain on the widower, just for his amusement and aggrandizement.
I cannot stand by while Trump malignantly lies about the status of the pandemic because it might make him look bad, while he lies about mail-in voting being corrupt, while he moves to fire and muzzle all inspectors general who are not rabidly lying for him.
I cannot abide in respectful silence while he continually lies on Twitter and drives the American people apart and elevates morally corrupt behavior. I cannot sit by while he sets the stage to undermine our democracy and invalidate the vote when he loses.
And I can no longer attempt to be respectful of those who support him, lie for him, excuse him or trade off his wicked behavior for power. I cannot listen respectfully to those willfully ignorant of his degenerate, violent tirades and the damage this does to our public discourse. He takes depraved delight in inflicting pain and chaos on others, and this is evil.
I cannot stand quietly by while he uses his position to undermine all dignity and honor.
It is time for all of us to respect our country, our Constitution and each other and stop listening to the bile and contemptible lying from him.
We will vote for decency, honor and authentic respect and true patriotism come November.
