Letters: I went to a BLM rally at Buckley Park

Recently, I attended a Black Lives Matter rally at Buckley Park.

I want to congratulate the citizens of Durango for behaving appropriately.

Although I quietly disagreed with the first speaker, the evening was lovely and the hatred present elsewhere was absent in downtown Durango.

In contrast, down-river in Farmington, both the BLM signs and Trump 2020 signs have been vandalized numerous times, and these defaced signs provide a message that the community is intolerant, lacks civic pride and has a crime problem, which results in discouraging investment by resembling a slum because of the graffiti.
