My thanks to the Durango City Council for its sensible, unanimous support of the ordinance requiring face-coverings within city limits.
The best reasoning for such a difficult if necessary precaution was provided by the Trump White House itself when Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx told Fox News there is “clear scientific evidence” that masks work. Dr. Birx went on to say, “Out of respect for each other, as Americans who care for each other, we need to be wearing masks in public when we cannot social distance.”
What a refreshing break from cultural politics, and a timely message of American unity and compassion.
