Many people complain about restriction of their freedom by being told to wear a mask. Freedom entails at least two elements, rights and responsibility. You don’t get to choose. If you’re not responsible, you don’t get rights.
Masks are primarily for the protection of people other than yourself. Perhaps ignorance of that fact is an excuse for irresponsible behavior. You no longer have that excuse.
There is a surge in new infections. I speculate the cause is that many people are tired of essential safety practices. The virus doesn’t care if you’re tired, it continues to spread given the opportunity
I am in good health but considered to be at increased risk. I ask on behalf of many others who fall into the same category for you to please take the responsibility part of your freedom seriously. Respect, and care for your fellow citizens.
You know the drill: masks and distancing at least.
Thanks for considering us.
