I have specific plans to improve health care on the Western Slope and in Southern Colorado. I don’t support eliminating private insurance. People who have good coverage now should be able to keep it. I will work on five other health care solutions: funding rural health care, ending surprise billing, lowering prescription drug costs by authorizing Medicare to negotiate prices, fully funding the Children’s Health Insurance Program and preserving the Medicaid expansion authorized by the ACA. Many in our district now rely on Medicaid; COVID-19 has increased the need.
