It’s time for a change to the LPEA board.
Your electric rate is going up due to LPEA’s internal expense growth. LPEA buys most power from Tri-State and its electric rate has not gone up for many years.
LPEA administrative and general expenses have grown by over 19% in the last two years!
Oversight of LPEA spending is controlled by the LPEA board. Your only way to limit more rate increases is to vote for board members with good financial and management skills.
Expense increases are from big jumps in legal and consultant fees plus LPEA staff costs.
Not only do rate increases hurt you, our local government is also impacted. Both the county and city have cited having difficulty competing for employees given LPEA’s wages and benefits.
Did you know LPEA has been giving away free electricity to electric vehicle charging stations for years and only recently is proposing changes? Further, LPEA is buying power from a solar producer at double the rate Tri-State charges LPEA.
Things like this bring into question whom certain LPEA board members are representing and conflicts of interest.
For better financial management and governance of LPEA, please vote for the following candidates: District 4, Sue McWilliams; District 3, Dave Nulton; and District 2, John Lee Jr.
