Letters: Keep Purple Cliffs homeless site open

With unexpected pleasure, I visited and toured the Purple Cliffs community recently. It is largely a self-governing community. It is kept reasonably clean. It is on public land usable for no other purpose. It is has minimal impact on adjoining properties. With community kitchens, showers and bulletin boards, residents are able to look out for one another. With 400 estimated homeless in our area, this community of about 60 partially provides for an important need. The minimal cost to the county is well worth the investment. It’s the right thing to do.
