Letters: Let’s ease up on the mask judgments

If I choose to wear a yellow shirt today, it doesn’t impact you. Why do you care if I’m wearing a mask?

I am an unapologetic mask wearer. I don’t wear it for me. I don’t wear it for you. I wear it for people I dearly love who would suffer greatly if they became ill. And if I go to a big store, I sometimes even wear gloves.

Again, doesn’t impact you. I feel better.

Some people I talk to locally say “It’s just like the flu” or “I’m pretty sure I had it in March and it was nothing.” People stand around in the grocery store talking about mass hysteria and how they are too smart to be a part of it.

Then I talk to clients in the Northeast, and they tell me about colleagues and relatives who have died. Everyone is experiencing this in a very different way depending on who you know and where you are.

Mask wearers, do what you think is right. Non-mask wearers, no need for judging. Everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.
