Liberals say it is insignificant if you are Black, white, Hispanic or Indigenous. They say only a racist would claim the race of a person matters. We should all be color blind. Liberals also say a person’s sexual orientation doesn’t matter.
Leftists say the race of a person matters greatly. Blacks have been oppressed. We stole the land from the Native Americans. LGBTQ are dealt with harshly. We need to know a person’s race and sexual orientation so we know a person’s victim status. We need to listen to these people who have a high victim status so we can right the wrongs of society. On the other hand, if you are a white male heterosexual, your voice should be suppressed. These are the people who have caused the oppression of the minorities.
Liberals believe the U.S. is one of the greatest countries in the world but acknowledge our flaws. Leftists believe this is a horrible country, founded on slavery with deeply ingrained racism to this day. They often don’t like to refer to themselves as Americans but instead claim to be citizens of the world.
Especially in today’s times, it’s important to realize the difference between leftism, liberalism and the right (also called conservativism). A leftist might be described as someone who is liberal to the extreme.
