Letters: Marsha Porter-Norton is a strong problem-solver

We are blessed to live in such a beautiful and energetic part of Colorado and I have been blessed to live here for over 40 years. I am proud of the history of La Plata County and its ability to move forward on solving so many community issues. Solving problems has kept our county on the leading edge of wonderful livability.

Even though I am an unaffiliated voter, I will be voting for Marsha Porter-Norton for county commissioner from District 2. Marsha has a lot of experience with topics the county deals with each day. I met her working on a ballot campaign in 2005. We were both volunteers and through the effort, we helped successfully secure more state funding for local roads, K-12 education and other important services.

Marsha was adept at listening before deciding on solutions as we traveled the county discussing that ballot issue with voters.

Her platform calls for specific things that will return our county to a strong economy. This is so important now in the time of COVID-19, when far too many people are out of work. She will also work for public health and smart growth and will stand up for our roads, bridges and infrastructure.

Our ballots will be mailed in early October. Please join me in voting early in the process for Marsha Porter-Norton.
