Letters: Our constitutional rights are violated

Are we going to continue to have our constitutional rights violated by our elected officials? Are we going to continue to agree to a lockdown without the right to support ourselves or to travel where we want?

Many people are facing debt, bankruptcy, loss of livelihood – and for what? COVID-19 is no worse than seasonal flu. The statistics are inflated and falsified. More and more doctors, researchers and even police are speaking out against the lies and deception. Many doctors are saying that masks are actually harmful and are not proven to help in any way. The 6- to 10-foot distancing rule is not based on science.

Are we going to continue to have our constitutional rights trampled and live in tyranny? Many people actually believe the lies and are living in fear, anxiety and stress. This shutdown is ruining our economy.

Do we live in the U.S. or Nazi Germany? Why is Walmart allowed to be open and not a shop in downtown Durango? There are more people in Walmart to pass this virus along than there would be in a small shop. This is not rational at all.

We the people need to stand up and say enough and get on with our lives and never allow this madness to happen again.
