Letters: Porter-Norton is fair and hardworking

I am writing this letter in support of Marsha Porter-Norton, a candidate for Plata County Commission in the upcoming November election.

Marsha has been a tireless contributor to the La Plata County community since the 1980s.

She is a strong advocate for high-quality health care, helping form the Community Health Action Coalition to help get needed services in the community.

She worked for the protection of the Hermosa Creek drainage, ultimately resulting in federal legislation to establish Hermosa Creek Wilderness and Special Management Area in 2014.

She has shown herself to be a fair and hardworking community member, and open to ideas from either side of the aisle. As such, she is extremely well-qualified for the office of county commissioner.

I strongly encourage all La Plata County residents to vote for Marsha Porter-Norton in November.
